Mirtemir grows up in Nukus, a dusty city between the desert and the dead Aral Sea. His mother has gone to a neighbouring country to earn money, whilst Mirtemir lives with his blind grandmother. He works as a waiter at a fast food venue during the day and entertains people with a mobile karaoke at night. Days of hard work and responsibility are, however, filled with joy and happiness.
