Shorts & Wine is one of the most unique experiences of the Vila-seca International Short Film Festival (FICVI). It is an open workshop that proposes a very special pairing: the combination of selected short films with local wines from the Tarragona Designation of Origin.

The activity invites attendees to enjoy short-format cinema, establishing a sensory dialogue between the projected stories and the nuances of the region’s wines. Wine, a product deeply rooted in the area, becomes here a travel companion, adding value to the cinematic experience and building a bridge between winemaking tradition and audiovisual creativity.

Shorts & Wine will begin with the screening of four short films. On this occasion, the short films are: Been There, Two Ships, Freedom, Yacht. The activity will continue with the pairing of four DO Tarragona wines guided by a group of experts from the Faculty of Enology of the Rovira i Virgili University, who will associate them with the previously screened short films. The experts leading the pairing are: Manuel Suárez Recio (Dean of the Faculty of Enology at URV), Pedro Cabanillas Amboades (Winemaker at the Experimental Winery Mas dels Frares of URV), Sumpta Mateos (Technical Engineer in Agri-Food Industries and Graduate in Enology from URV), Antoni Canalda (Winemaker and PhD researcher), and M. Rosa Blanch (President of DO Tarragona).

Shorts & Wine will be fully in-person and free of charge. To participate, prior reservation is required!
