Strategies of an Author’s Mercenary

In Strategies of an Author’s Mercenary, Xavier Manuel will explore the many facets of the screenwriter’s profession, both within the industry and through mentoring and developing projects by other authors. He will take an engaging look back at his professional career, which includes work ranging from Nickelodeon to Decorado, winner of the Goya Award for Best Animated Film, as well as Les Tres Bessones. He will also share his creative process with the audience, exploring such diverse areas as comedy, animation, video games, and children’s and family audiences, as well as creative tools such as Rodari’s Grammar of Fantasy, the U.S. cartoon mindset, exhaustion writing, and the fantastic metaphor, among others.

The masterclass will be held in person and is free of charge.
